Microsoft Support for Windows 7

I am posting this to "dispel" some of the myths surrounding the impending Microsoft move to no longer "support" Windows 7. First, Windows 7 will continue to run and work after Microsoft stops supporting it. They just won't be doing any major upgrades or revisions to the operating...

Re: Advice

Will the GTX970 support the new Microsoft Flight Simulator? I am betting it won't. I think its to early to start running out and replacing all our GTX970 Graphics cards. MS2020 is early in the process, and MS isn't going to put themselves outside, forcing everyone to upgrade computers. That just is...

Re: Advice

Paul There's allot to unpack in this. P3D and FSX are similar. The file structures for both FSX and P3D are identical. The SDK, the part that you need to build scenery, aircraft paints and the like are also identical. This means that you should be able to use many of your FSX scenery packs and aircr...

FSInn and SquawkBox3 Issues VATSIM

VATSIM has made the determination that each of these interface clients for VATSIM are being retired. Any person who is running FSInn or SquawkBox 3 (SB3) will need to change clients to log into VATSIM going forward. For those running FS9, it appears that SWIFT will be the only choice available for y...

FS9 VATSIM Clients to be Retired

Following is an excerpt from VATSIM's forum regarding VATSIM's stance on FS9 clients. The plan 6 months ago unanimously supported by the BoG was to retire the legacy clients upon Audio for VATSIM launch. The AFV development team lobbied the BoG extremely hard, and did get a stay of execution of FSIN...

Re: License

The "license" of P3D comes in three flavors... Academic, Professional, and Professional Plus. The "academic" package appears to be targeted towards students and has all the rights of the professional package at about half the price. The standard, non-academic entry would be the p...

Re: New 3D scenery for X-Plane 11

Bob,

Thanks for all of your efforts on X-Plane scenery. We can only hope that we can customize
to the level that we have in FSX.

Your efforts in X-plane are appreciated.

Simulator Installs Under Windows 10

Windows 10 security is different then older Windows operating systems. This requires that flight simulators, including Microsoft's own group, should be installed "outside the default" installation path of the program. The default path is C:\\Program Files (X86) Without a clear understandin...

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Pre-Alpha preview

Nice video review. Still very preliminary to speculate on the finished product.
