Modifying Aircraft Liveries for XPlane

Post by Mark Kusiak » Sun Oct 21, 2018 7:46 pm

Modification of X-Plane liveries can be accomplished through the use of Photo Shop or GIMP as
the texture files are .PNG files. They do not need to be converted from .dds textures for modification
with a editing program.

According to YouTube videos on the subject, the process for modifying X-Plane aircraft liveries
is easier then doing the same thing for the older FSX based simulators. Photoshop can be expensive,
but it is the Cadillac of photo editing software. The GIMP is as capable, with drawbacks, as Photo-
shop, but is free of charge to the user. The results accomplished in the video were pretty good for
an hours work.

Here are the Videos.... Repaint using GIMP and Photoshop. Repainting in X-Plane 737-800.
