I am most excited for a more holistic weather model. I would like to see a storm front in the horizon, not have different weather load every 20 minutes.

I use Active Sky XP and am please with it. I like the enhance lighting, rain effects and 4-Seasons weather. I'd like to get in on that early release offer. I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

Thanks for sharing that video about X Plane 12. I have been using 11 for some time now, and am very happy with it. Ready for the next version.

I was at the Expo and got to sample X-Plane 12 at the Honeycomb booth, developers should be able to get their hands on an advance copy in the next month or two, and hope to have a beta version ready for everyone else around the first of the year. The XPlane rep did hint at the end of the year but also said that was a very soft target release date. IE is most likely to get pushed back to sometime after the new year. Either way, I am already sold and can't wait for the release. Also, XP 11 Native aircraft should be usable in XP12 but expect issues from aircraft that may have been brought in from earlier versions.

I also use Active Sky XP and hopefully, they can update or have a new version of ASXP out soon. But the improvements with the lighting model and weather engine and ambient environment sounds definitely bring's Xplane to the next level.

P.S. keep an eye on the XPlane.org forums for the latest scoop on this subject.
