Long range airliner options?

Hmm, in XP11 I was planning to fly a route from EHAM to YPPH in the 747-400, but it does not seem to have the range, in the weight and balance setting it says it will go for ‘only’ 12 hours or so with pax and cargo.
If you fly XP11 do you have a suggested aircraft model for these super long 14 hour+ flights? Or maybe that 747 estimate is too skeptical?

All of the super long haul flights for the Singapore hub are broken up into two legs. I believe my longest flight is 9 - 10 hours. I have flown 9 hours with the 747-8F. I just completed a 2-leg flight of approximately 6.5 hours each: WSSS > OMDB > EHAM with the 747-8F. Are you flying a scheduled route or one that you came up with?

This is what I find when I do a internet search for the 747 range:
747-8i range is 7,790 nmi (8,966 mi; 14,430 km)at MTOW with 467 passengers and baggage.
747-400 - The passenger model has a maximum range of 8,430 miles (13,570km)

I'm assuming you are flying the default 747-400, in which case I wouldn't expect the weight and balance calculations to be very accurate or even its performance to be very close to that of a premium payware like the 747 intercontinental.

Thanks Bob, I was looking at a scheduled EHAM to YPPH route, I don’t know why but I am trying to finish a Perth hub slam, even though it is not an active hub anymore. But I like flying Western Australia, especially this time of year.

I am trying to use the default 747-400 but as modified by Sparky, a freeware download update similar to Zibo but not as detailed I guess.

I think the estimate on the xp11 weight and balance page is just off, and it can actually manage taking off with the full load of fuel with pax just fine. I will definitely be using time compression or the pause button, I am not retired yet. :-)

Yes, the Weight and balance estimate for flying hours is way off. I plugged the 747-400 into the simbrief flight plan I just used for my flight from Dubai to EHAM. Simbrief says it is 6.5 flight hours. Using the same fuel load in the X-Plane calculator I come up with about 4.5 hours. If that flight is in the Perth schedule it must be doable. Supposedly those flights were actually flown.

Well bummer the Sparky version just doesn't have the range. I would have to find something else for XP11 or wait and see what develops for XP12.

Anyone flying the 777-200ER from VMAX? I believe it has been around since XP10 in 2013 but has been updated several times.

I always see people flying that model but I assume they are using the PMDG version for FSX/P3D.

This is a great aircraft, and a good price. I paid full price when it came out. I do most of my long hauls with this.

In the meantime I can just do the ultra long haul flights on FS9 with freeware. Old school!

yes the SSG 748 is my choice for long hals also
