Re: Active Sky for X-Plane 12 Open Beta

Here is a link to a good YouTube video by Q8 Pilot comparing XP12 default weather to Active Sky 12 weather: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHzIurVGOU4
Q8 Pilot is my #1 go to whenever I am considering a particular new add on.

XP11 Global Scenery Update

I just discovered that XP11 Global Scenery updates are available as a bundle from X-Plane.org Scenery downloads: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/76515-x-plane-11-global-airports-update/ The most recent update was done in October 2022. As some of you may already know, the airport sce...

Re: Salty 747 vs. SSG 747?

I just completed a flight with the Sparky 747-400. Very nice aircraft. If that had been available at the time I purchased the SSG 747-8, I probably would not have made that purchase. It has a full FMC which include ground services/handling. Startup is more complex than the SSG, primarily because the...

I'm still using Beta 8. I have been monitoring the forum to see reports for each Beta before I update. I didn't go to 10 because it didn't like the reports. 8 has not been too bad. I'll check out 11 this weekend.

WestWind Custom Scenery in X-Plane 12

I have been following the posts on the X-Plane Forum regarding scenery compatibility with XP12. As it stands right now, the scenery I did for WestWind works with XP12 (at least the ones I have been able to test). All of the custom work I have done uses the latest Laminar Research airports from the S...

Re: Salty 747 vs. SSG 747?

I just downloaded the Sparky 747 for XP-11. I will give it a try this weekend and let you know what I think of it. I also downloaded the XP12 version and see how that goes, although the XP12 beta is pretty buggy particularly with third party aircraft.

Re: Salty 747 vs. SSG 747?

I am strictly X-Plane, so I'm not familiar with the Salty 747. Early on I purchased the SSG 747, and especially liked the fact that I got the Freighter and Passenger versions as a all-in-one purchase. I love flying that aircraft, as you can tell if you see any of my hub reports. Also, SSG was quick ...
