MSFS2020 Steam version
MSFS2020 Steam version
Not sure if this is the place to post thing, but any tech savvy folks out there if you could help me out, I'd appreciate it. I've been having issues where I'm getting stuck on the "checking for updates" screen when I start it up. I've tried several solutions and so far, no dice. I may be down to deleting and reinstalling, but I'd rather exhaust all options before I go that route. Thanks for any help!

Re: MSFS2020 Steam version
I have the Steam version also. But it's been a while since I've seen this issue.
I'm not sure what you've tried so far. If you haven't already done so, attempt to verify game files in Steam.
Then, back up your community folder somewhere outside of Steam. Then delete the community folder in the sim folder. if that works then you have a mod that is causing the issue.

Re: MSFS2020 Steam version
I had this once and it was something to do with the updates being corrupt on your machine. I had to delete the update files from a folder, but I can't remember from where. I'll keep looking for the solution and post here when I find it

Re: MSFS2020 Steam version
So the folder is here
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages
Delete any files in this folder (Not any folders) and then restart MSFS, it should then download any new files as needed.

Re: MSFS2020 Steam version
Gave that a shot and nada. I just ended up deleting it and reinstalling everything. Big headache, but got it working again. Thanks though.
