P3Dv5

Post by wwa659 »

I had P5 on my Wish List since it first came out. But several issues, some related to P5 and some not I held off on getting it till last night. I admit that pulling the trigger was more Monkey see monkey do than anything else but at the same time most of the issues that were holding me back had been resolved for some time. I will spend most of Sunday installing and setting up P5. Next, I will need to upgrade Active Sky and Fsuipc. then look at what aircraft can transfer over.

I think you'll like it Sean, it runs very well on my machine...noticeably better than v4.5. I've been using it since it was released and although there certainly were some issues initially, they've pretty much all been solved with v5.1 from what I can see.
You may find that your payware airplanes will need a different installer specifically for v5, but I suspect the high end developers should all have that covered by now.
Have fun with the setup/tweaking process!

Cheers,
Rob

I have installed P3D V5 now for about 4 months and am very happy with it.
I already got rid of my P3D V4.5 installation as almost everything worked in P3D v5 (PMDG 737 NGx and QW 787 and Carenado C208B).
Note that installating the 737 NGX needed a trick in the registry settings but nothing difficult. You can find lots of info on the internet, however nowadays very often more on Youtube then in text explanations.
The only plane i could not migrate was the IFly 744. (pity as that one was only recently bought, so i still hope there will be an upgrade to this one later this year)

As Rob is saying, it runs pretty well, also on my Hardware (r3700x/rtx3080,32Gb ram and 1 GB M2 ssd with many of the sliders all the way up.

Take note that you will need FSUIPC V6.0 for P3D V5.

Good luck in setting up your installation
