Also released on steam now, you can pre order it there, which somehow is better than micosoft store because it will allow you to backup files without a hassle, 150 GB is too big to loose.
Does steam have options for which version you purchase?
X-Plane 12, MSFS 2020, VATSIM-P1, Pilot2ATC, Air Hauler 2(Westwind Air Hauler 2 VA owner), A Pilots Life, Active Sky XP, TDFI PACX, Real World Private Pilot.
Yes, it does have the option to pre purchase either of the three available packages
Although it is unclear whether or not the files are indeed maintained by steam or that steam will redirect you to the Microsoft Store directly.
I would advise waiting a few days for everything to become clear before ordering but perhaps some are too hyped already.
There is also easier to download and install games from steam, in microsoft store if you run a game while downloading and you run it in full screen mode it stops the download, it does the same with youtube videos, if you video is in full screen it pauses the download so steam is better, plus regional pricing i got premium plus edition for 39 bucks it's 120 or 90 something bucks in US i think(which i could not afford) but now it's expensive but i can buy it in 3rd world country.
I think it's going to be an online only sim, and it consumes a lot of data, all of us have experienced minor disconectivity issues, but if at the end of an 11 hour flight and internet disconnects for just a second and we can't resume flight then that's an issue.
Well, I pre-ordered the premium edition on steam, the key thing was the one-time payment versus a subscription. Looks like it is time to delete the FSX: Steam and all the DLC's to make room

Looks like there is a lot of conversation going on with the new program. Good to see something new getting interest when there are many other options that work but in my mind not as well. My biggest problem is that it seems like my new laptop runs hot when this program is open. It has an RTX2070 graphics card and that may be why but I am trying to be sure. Another is that I use my joystick and keyboard for FS2004/FS9 and FSX. I have not been able to figure out how to do both on my new laptop. Working on that as well.

I think with the release of this new Sim we will see an influx of inactive and maybe even retired pilots making their way back to the skies!!
Phil,
I deleted the duplicated earlier post...
I'm one of those inactive pilots making my way back to WestWind! The new MS Flight Simulator definitely has me excited about flying in a sim again. I'll see you in the air soon!
