freeware CRJ Series for X-Plane 11

Post by Sean McConnell WWA659 »

I am providing a link for a freeware CRJ 700/900/1000 for consideration adding to Westind's XP hanger via the same link.

I would like other X-plane users to give this aircraft a test. and let me know if it should be added or if in your opinion it does not measure up to Westwind standards. I for one had to remind myself that it was freeware and should not compare it to payware models.

I will download that and check it out. Also, I found a Cessna Citation that I downloaded last week, but haven't installed it yet. Has pretty high ratings by those that have it and the designer says he is dedicated to continual improvement.

Okay, here is my report:

I have made 3 flights in the CRJ series aircraft. flight dynamics are good and the modelling looks good. It handles nicely; however, it will not fly a FMS course. Autopilot works fine for VS, heading, alt, approach and nav for tracking VOR. Just will not navigate a FMS course. For anyone wanting to manually fly this aircraft, it is fine.

The Citation-X is a nicely modelled aircraft inside and out, but none of the systems are any good. The designer had d abandoned the aircraft some time ago and is just now picking it up again. Has a lot of potential, but a hangar queen right now.
